Dr. Jane is incredibly excited about this online course. It is driven by her model, mission and vision for the Roots & Shoots program. While we wish she could be here to teach it herself, she is incredibly busy traveling over 300 days a year spreading her message of hope!
Absolutely. This course will be beneficial for any formal or informal educators, adult mentors wishing to facilitate service projects with youth and strong youth leaders wanting to gather a group of their peers to get involved.
Yes! This course will give you the Roots & Shoots background and history you need to be successful doing the program.
Each week a new lesson will be released for you to complete on your own time and leisure. However, you must complete the work before the next weeks lesson is made available.
Roots & Shoots has been used in every single grade and subject matter (even physical education!). We have adaptations of our resources for younger children and the types of R&S campaigns that you develop will vary based on the age and abilities of your young people.

Everyone who completes all the required elements of the course with an average score of 80% will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion from the Jane Goodall Institute.
Upon completion of all required elements in the course educators will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Jane Goodall Institute that indicates the number of hours of professional learning that occurred during the four week course. For K-12 teachers in the United States, it is up to individual state licensing agencies as to whether they will accept the certificate as evidence of acceptable teacher training.

Absolutely! Credit is being offered only for those who elect to participate but it is not required.
